Price labels can be 'sticky' (adhesive) or not. They can be on 8.5" x 11" sheets (commonly printed with laser-style, inkjet, bubblejet printers) or they may be on rolls or 'folds' of paper that are notched on the sides and fed through dot matrix printers. Labels come in an unimaginable number of sizes, shapes and colors and they can even have preprinted (custom) messages and designs.
Buying and printing labels can be a major expense so good 'label management' is a necessity.
Buy Labels
Click on price labels consignment to see search results for that phrase. There may be some suppliers listed at the top but keep in mind that a site doesn't get to the top of search results based price and service. It's better to search for the label using its product number (like an Avery number) to assure getting the exact label needed.
Print Labels
If only a few labels are needed, the Brother QL-550 Label Maker may suffice at around $140. It prints 50 labels per minute and can print one at a time.
If you are using software, the software vendor should be able to tell you all of the labels supported by the software and exactly which labels to purchase. Caveats: Don't buy hardware from software vendors who hike up the prices then charge you for servicing the hardware (like Liberty and 'Consignpro').
If you would like to print labels on 8.5" x 11" sheets, there's an inexpensive software program for $99 at Best Consignment Shop Software that can be used with any laser-style printer. The program is also handy for tracking consignors, processing sales and settlements and viewing reports, and there are no ongoing fees for usage.
